I don't need a flat screen, no 3D and no screen for my film pleasure.
If the plot and actors are good, I quickly forget that the film is «only« shown on the screen of my MacBook.
If you are interested in good crime series but are critical of public television, give the programme another chance.
For films with violence or only for adults, Pro7 is the right place to go, but exciting entertainment with humour is more likely to be found in crime series from ARD and ZDF. I don't like every crime series either, e.g. I only watched «SOKO Leipzig» for a few episodes, then I had enough. But some series are really excellent.
